Somehow, models in "scenes" just look better to me. Here's a "goin' away" shot of the Shay #5 herr Booth finished for me. The model runs exactly as well as its appearance would suggest: Beautifully ! It's driven by a Faulhauber Micro-Mo Coreless Motor with an integral gearbox, driving through a 1:1 Helical gear set on the drive axle, with a sealed ball bearing to control runout on the shaft.
