The "Sn3" Dispatch! from P-B-L!

Click on the photo above for a full size view of its "Coffee Table Format" Cover! There are 68 Full Color Pages of some of the greatest railroad models of all time in here! Great Models and Great Modeling from the #1 Source of "Sn3" for the past 25 years, P-B-L!

We'd fully intended to go to press with this issue in the Spring of 2004, but we never got it done until January of 2005. Too many new things coming on board was one reason. "Let's just wait 'til we get the pilot models of the XYZ in so's we can photograph them for the Dispatch"... And since the Dispatch, the "Inside Tracks", Newsletters, Instructions for Model Kits, Photo Shoots and Drawings for same, plus new kit development, plus everything you see on this web site are the product of a one man dog and pony show, not everything gets done within the time frame we'd like to maintain.

Anyhow, on January 28th, 2005, this Dispatch was mailed out. If you're one of our good friends and customers you've likely already got one in your hands by this time. If not, but you're interested in quality, FineScale modeling, you can order one out today. Enclosed $10 bucks so's we can recover some of our costs, OK? We'll even send it first class mail. ( US Only. Foreign will be charged whatever it costs to deliver one to your door. No more. [ Included in the 9" X 12" mailer envelope will also be one of our current Catalogs; plus a current Brass List. ]

The Dispatch is printed on heavier stock than any magazine you'll pick up these days, with an even heavier stock for its cover, this one's a keeper! Quite a number of our "regulars" have picked up an extra one so's they can keep one "for good" and still have one to drool over.

They're in limited supply so get yours ordered today.

The "Inside Track"

Here's the cover of our very latest INSIDE TRACK, mailed out 1st Class to all of our domestic customers the week of November 18th. Chock full of Great photos of even Greater Models, and all in living color! If you didn't get yours yet, send us a $5 spot and we'll fire one off to you first class immediately. ( While they last, of course... )

Click Here , or on the photo for an Adobe Acrobat® file of the actual cover. It's not as cool as the real thing, but this is the web, right?

( Please Note: Foreign guys need to send an additonal $5 to help defray the air post cost.
We're sorry, but we don't set the rates. )

HOW TO GET ON OUR SNAIL-MAIL LIST

Printed matter costs more than "just time". . . It also costs real dollars to produce. . . And since our occasional mailers contain no paid advertising, thus allowing us to supply you, our modeling friends with the superb color photos you've come to expect from P-B-L on each and every page of each issue, we have to charge for our stuff.

We've had a few guys in the past who balked at having to pay us for what is essentially a look at what we make and sell, but we figure these guys are either uninformed ( as to the actual time and money involved in producing the stuff. .. ); or so used to being deluged by junk mailers from computer, tool, and other purveyors of whatever that they probably think P-B-L is making a killing at this business as we design, create tooling for, manufacture and market finescale stuff so that our loyal customers can have an ample supply of goods to perpetuate "The Ideal Scale". ( Ahhh, if that were only the case. . . )

But alas, it's not. We may have a pretty cool web site that is, for the most part, up to date and functional; We may produce the finest railroad models; And we may have one of the loyalest customer bases on the planet. . .

But the fact remains that, while "Sn3" really is "The Ideal Scale" to model in ( because it's Big Enough to SEE, yet Small Enough to Operate ); the majority of its adherents are REAL MODELERS, highly interested in modeling the only real railroading that makes any sense for all but the largest of layout spaces: The Narrow-Gauge. . . And of course, this severely limits the size of our hobby since most publications that deal with Model Railroading are oriented towards "Mainline" modeling, with its huge, modern Diesels and all but extinct Steam Locomotives, both of which pull mile long trains in real life but which the average modeler has room to pull maybe 20 cars without the head-end unit nosed up against the caboose. ( Or even worse, nosed up against the EOT light of the last car. No caboose in sight. . . Ugh! ]

If you're tired of seeing the character-less trains of the prototype pulling consists of graffiti emblazoned rolling stock with practically no trainmen in sight, and you long for the days when Trains were Trains, with the magical Caboose bringing up the rear; Or the idea of a Big Boy pulling a 15 car consist around curves meant for yard goats just doesn't seem quite "right" to you, then you need to click here . . . We've a "story" tailored just for YOU, my friend! 'Cause these things don't set well with us either!

We have a few of our most recent Inside Tracks still available. Replete with cool photos of even cooler locomotives and rolling stock with the added bonus ( ? ) of the usual comments by yr fthfl svt included too. If you'd like one of these "classics", then by all means send us your name and address and $5 bucks American and we'll see to it you get one. ( Costs us pretty near that much just to mail the things nowadays. . . ) Then of course, if you actually BUY something off this one, the next one'll be "on the house". . .

( Foreign add an additional $5.00 for Airmail postage. Sorry. We don't set the postal rates! )
