The D&RGW had two groups or "series'" of "Long" Cabooses... 1.) "Round" Roof, and 2.) Peaked Roof... The often photographed #0503 seen in Chama is a "round roof" type... Back in 1988 we created a model of #0503, in kit form, that was painstakingly scaled directly from the real thing, back there in Chama... ( We lived there in those days, so research was relatively easy to accomplish...) Our model had unbelievable detail for the day... And still does! It featured a COMPLETE INTERIOR! Why, even the overhead bunks could be opened! But that was 1988, you say... What have we done lately? Well sir, we've just finished creating the "Peaked Roof" Long Cabeese, with complete interiors as before... But this time they're READY-To_OPERATE! Our in house designed and engineered and produced from BRAND NEW TOOLING with the aid of our 21st century CAD/CAM/CNC technology to a level of detail that humbles even us ! You have to see 'em to believe 'em, and the click to enlarge photos on this page will let you do just that ! Suffice it to say that these Ready-to-Operate beauties will delight even the most critical modeler! Eye level models created in "The Ideal Scale" for indoor modelers and operators alike!    Over three years in the making, these models are the epitome of FineScale Modeling...
And they are Era Specific too ! Students of the D&RGW's "Long" Cabeese will be quick to point out that all of the Peaked Roof cabooses were built with "Single Window" Cupolas... (As viewed from the side, of course...) Most remain as such until today... But others were rebuilt in the thirties to have "Double Window" cupolas....
   So as you scroll down you will see both represented, correctly lettered to fit the era being modeled...
   Below are a couple of close-up views that were a true test of Jimmy's iPhone... ( And its operator, heh, heh, heh... ) If you are into detail, like the ad says, you're going to like what you see ! We guarantee it !

Each of these models is a faithful reproduction of its prototype, only in miniature...
Each is equipped with REAL RUBBER AIR HOSES, GENUINE KADEE® #156 Couplers, and COINED, NICKEL PLATED BRASS Wheelsets, and a COMPLETE INTERIOR, including the 'kitchen sink'...

  They are designed to negotiate a 26" minimum radius curve, which they do here just fine on our in-shop test layout...
  (Like anything else, the larger the radius, the better they "look"... 'Just sayin'...)

  Our long time HK friend, K.K. and his extremely talented crew produced 500 of these models for us, total... So if you think that one is in YOUR future, 'best you act quickly so as not to be disappointed...
